Flickr analysis

In the slide show in my previous post, you will see the photographs I have taken of my model for the front cover of my pop music magazine. There is a variety of mise-en-scene such as props and costumes which relate to the topic of my magazine. I think that all of the pictures I took are useful and could be used on the front cover, the only problem I have had is the plain white background, I tried to find the plainest background I could find, however I will be able to edit out anything that interrupts the white background.

I have picked a few images off the internet of different female pop singers and bands to look at the different styles of fashion they each wear. From looking at these images I have figured out that they are bright outfits and very 'in fashion' outfits.

When looking at the images of the girl bands, all of the individuals that make up the band have similar outfits on, for example in the bottom right photo, The Saturdays are all wearing a summer look which includes shorts and a bright/floral top. This imply's that they are part of the same band and are in the same settings e.g. on holiday.

However, by looking at the individual singers you can see that their outfits are a lot more classy and grown up in some cases to try and have a good influence on the younger generation, they are still bright colours but not as 'out there'.

This has given me inspiration for my music magazine for the mise-en-scene such as the costume, I have decided that I am going to dress my model(s) in quite bright colours and more casual clothes, maybe some images where they are dressed up, but I would like my images more laid back so a good example is being given to my ideal target audience, however still dressed up enough to look presentable, professional and like celebrities.
